First, good for you for getting through all this - it sound's like it's been quite an ordeal but it also sounds like you have good doctors. I've heard of the J pouch procedure and it's no easy job - limited number of surgeons in the country who can perform it. Defenetly post on the Crohn's/Colitis board. I have seen posters there who've had bouts with colon cancer and also others who've had ostomy and J pouch procedures. For now, I would say it would probably help, and certaily not hurt, for you to start following the IBS diet. Good luck and hope you can start to feel better soon.
