How strictly do you adhere to the IBS diet if you've been stable for awhile? I'm not going to go out and order a steak and a large malted milk or anything , but I was curious.

My IBS has been really bad most of this year (LOTS better in the last couple weeks...yes,thanks to Heather's diet), but looking back, I think I've had symptoms a long time. However, I knew my "recipes for disaster," so I avoided certain foods when my stomach was bothering me, which wasn't all the time. And I know my sister successfully deals with her IBS differently than I do mine. (For example, a little red meat doesn't bug her terribly, but I'm afraid of most of it.) I know IBS is a very individual condition.

Again, if you are stable, how strictly do you adhere to the diet? Venison (deer) doesn't seem to hurt me, and I know as a red meat, it should be a trigger. What trigger foods can you handle and in what amounts?
