Breastfeeding and IBS

I have a daughter with IBS who started developing chronic constipation as a baby. Although I breastfed her, at the time my husband thought he was helping by giving her 2% cow's milk from a bottle from time to time. I now believe that it was the cow's milk that created the condition. Now she is herself pregnant and believes that she would pass the IBS on to her baby if she breastfeeds. I believe it is quite the opposite and that breastfeeding exclusively will be the only insurance against IBS for her baby. Any thoughts?
