What do I eat when "what to eat when I can't eat anything else" doesn't resolve my symptoms? I posted previously about this but I'm still searching for some way to "break the cycle". I tried the BTC approach in the book (white bread, rice, etc.) and became visciously constipated, felt extremely fatigued and out of it... and after a bit of course the constipation didn't help my gut symptoms.
So then I started adding back some IF and small amounts of oil/fat (b/c in the past that has helped with constipation), and I am having the same symptoms as I always have.
Also: when my doc prescribed Bentyl about three weeks ago it had an almost miraculous effect on me. It improved all of my symptoms (except for making the C worse). Now, however, the drug doesn't seem to be helping at all. I've tried taking higher doses, and all that does is make the C even worse. I've also been drinking STRONG peppermint tea throughout the day, taking Heather's peppermint capsules and also about 8-9 grams of SF supplement.
I don't have any idea what to do at this point. If the BTC diet doesn't work, how do I, in fact, break the cycle and get to a point of stability. If I can't do that, then I can't figure out how certain foods effect me. And if I can't figure out how certain foods effect me, I don't have any control over this!
So frustrated!
