Hi Beth,
I am the daughter of Steve Jordheim, whose username is musicprof. Thank you so much for your post - I'm so glad to find someone who understands my situation of constant pain. It's so hard to maintain a high quality of life, especially in college when it seems everyone is "normal" in their eating and can do whatever they want without getting sick, when you're in constant pain. No matter what I try to do, the pain is always there. Exercising helps (I do pilates and stretching videotapes) as does throwing my mind into my studies to get my mind off of the pain. I'm a voice performance major, so singing is my source of therapy (although at times my pain hinders my ability to sing since it's such a physical activity). All foods bother me at some point - if not today, then tomorrow. It's so frustrating! I've lost weight due to my inability to eat enough because of the pain, and I'm trying desperately to gain it back. I'm hopeful about Naltrexone, but it's being studied so I can't get the drug yet. In the meantime, my heart goes out to you, and we can support each other!
