I would be concerned about mustard aggravating your stomach if you are in "attack" mode and I would also be concerned about other ingredients that are found in prepared mustards. Mustard might be fine for you, but if you are getting sick and don't exactly know what the culprit foods are, the best thing to do is to go to a plain "breaking the cycle" diet and then experiment by adding one food at a time into your diet to try and pinpoint which foods cause problems and which foods are okay. Just because mustard is rated as a digestive aid doesn't mean it will be safe for you.
For years, when I didn't know I had IBS and when I had no idea what diet was safe, I would eat things and be fine and then all of asudden I would get a terrible attack. It took me an awful long time to figure out what I could and could not tolerate. If you are still in the trial and error stage, then it would be a good idea to go slowly and start with the foods that are more likely to be safe and then branch out from there into other things like mustard or whatever your heart desires.
Basically you have to be a detective for yourself. And don't assume any food is safe. When you get sick, anything could have caused it (the food itself or even something in the food) although some foods are more likely than others to cause problems. At this stage, I would personally recommend you stay away from mustard until you sort out the more basic things in your diet.
As for ketchup, personally I can't tolerate it. But maybe you will be able to. But again I would recommend saving that "experiment" for a later date.
It's an arduous road that we IBS people travel. But the longer travelled, the easier the journey gets as you gain more knowledge and insight into what foods work for you and what foods will need to be avoided.
