Re: Casey, thank you...       03/23/05 05:59 PM Edit Reply Quote AndrewL Reged: 02/20/05 Posts: 15 Dear Angie; I've been suffering with chronic anxiety for nearly 15 years and I can tell you that although the drugs do have a sedating effect-bad news for anyone who's a student-the anxiety is SO damaging to both your life and body that it's really a necessity.My nuerologist prescribes only mild sedatives formulated specifically for anxiety like Xanax.I would STRONGLY suggest you get diagnosed by a psychologist or nuerologist.To date,but-other then drugs,the only real treatment methods that have proven consistently effective is cognative behavioral methods-and most HMO's don't cover it at all.That's why I never got it.But I DO suggest you get yourself checked out-it can be just as debilitating to a life as cancer if unchecked.
