A couple of weeks ago, I bought Krusteaz Low Fat Oat Bran pancake mix. This one tastes great and seems really soothing to my digestive tract (I'm IBS-D). I thought some of you looking for easy breakfast ideas or more foods high in soluble fiber might like this. Here are the ingredients and other info for you to consider:
Ingredients:
enriched bleached flour, oat bran, sugar, dextrose, polydextrose, leavening, calcium carbonate, spice, canola oil, dried apples, salt, egg whites, emulsifier, artificial flavor.
1 serving = two 4" pancakes
Calories = 230
Total Fat= 3g
Soluble fiber = 2 g
Insoluble fiber = 2 g
Calcium = 35%
I add a tablespoon of ground flaxseed, which, I believe, adds another couple of grams of soluble fiber (1 T = 4 g of dietary fiber). I also eat four pancakes--two just doesn't seem like enough--because I'm trying to gain some weight!
