Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

Hi all.

Just wondering if any of you have had success with mebeverine? I saw a new doctor today (who was wonderful, the first time I've had my IBS and symptoms taken seriously!!) as I've had unrelenting bloat for months now, and she has given me a script for mebeverine.

Its the first time I've thought to take any medication for my IBS, but the discomfort has become too much. I plan to start it tomorrow and am keen to hear what other peoples experiences are. I've heard there's no halfway with this medication - it either works or it doesn't? Fingers crossed it works for me!

PS I'm typically C, however my BMs have been very good lately. My fear with taking anything new is that it will make me C again. But the bloat is a killer, why won't it go away!! I've tried EVERYTHING to no avail!!

PPS Hope everyone is well. I've been away from the boards for a while as I've been VERY busy. Lifes pretty good at the moment tho, except the bloat, sigh......
