ADB's (anti depressant brownies)       03/10/05 11:37 AM Edit Reply Quote nikjones_uk Reged: 01/04/05 Posts: 700 3/4 cup cocoa powder 1/2 t-spoon baking soda 1/3 cup canola(corn) oil 1/2 cup boiling water 1/3 cup applesauce 2 cups sugar 4 egg whites 1 1/3 cups self raising flour 1 teaspoon vanilla (I like to use peppermint!) Preheat the oven to 350F (125C) Spray a 9 x 13" baking pan with cooking oil and set aside. In a large bowl, whisk together the cocoa and baking soda. Blend the oil and mix until smooth. Pour in the boiling water, stirring until the mixture thickens. Stir in the applesauce, the sugar and the egg whites. Mix until smooth. Add the flour and the vanilla. Blend completely - there should be no lumps. Pour into the prepared baking pan. Spread it evenly to avoid crispy edges. Bake for 35/40 mins (25/30 mins if using Pyrex) until just set in the middle. Let cool and cut into squares! I just this minute tried to make some but put too much oil in and it went horrid!! Haha - note - don't put too much oil in!! Print     Remind Me     Notify Moderator
