Thanks for your advice Casey. I checked my margarine, it IS smartbalance, not smartbeat - I made an error. But anyway, I'll stay away from margarine for a while, and the garlic. As for the squash, I think it makes sense that the stringy nature of the spaghetti squash might make it a trigger. And I wonder if the rice is what is causing the C. Maybe I should limit quantities of rice. I'm just concerned about the "safe" list because there are quite a few other foods on it that I believe are triggers for me. Such as chestnuts, soy and mangoes. This is particularly difficult for me because I have been on a low carb diet for the past 2 1/2 years. I was not strict like Atkins, but ate LOTS of vegetables, and dairy, fish, chicken and red meat. I tried to limit saturated fats. I lost 85lbs and kept it off. My life really change for the better, except that my IBS symptoms and attacks had become more frequent and in the past 9 months absolutely intolerable. So I am going to try Heathers diet. Much of it makes a lot of sense to me, although I am going to have a difficult time allowing myself to eat bread, potatoes and pasta (which have always been "binge" triggers to me.) I'm hoping to be successful with this diet without having to rely too heavily on the bread, potatoes and pasta. Thanks again for your advice.
