But ok so for those of you who love the Acacia, Fennel Tea and Pepermint caps...help me out!
What time of day is best to take my Acacia (I'm starting out on one dose a day except when my hormones make me worse). Is taking it in the moring and/or on an empty tummy ok?
Ok and can I add the Acacia to my glass of Fennel hot tea? Or is that too much or not good to mix?

And since I'm starting to think I have IBS-A and stress and hormones are my worst triggers rather than food. Then can I take these things only on my bad days? Like when going somewhere and/or that 'time of the month'?

I hope I can explain things a little. First of all a SFS is not medicine or a drug or anything like that and has no danger involved. It is more like eating a big bowl of oatmeal since all it is is soluble fiber like in food but easier to digest. So an SFS needs to be taken every day. I feel taking it in the evening is better than morning for the time at the beginning when you are taking only one dose. I also have been told by my GI doc that taking SFS with dinner is best. I put mine in my fennel tea and let it sit for 5 minutes. You should just start with 1/2 teaspoon and then add 1/2t. in the morning later when you are ready. From there go up 1/2t when you are ready. It takes weeks. The peppermint capsules should be taken on an empty stomach. You can just take them when you feel the worst. I tend to believe though that fennel and peppermint has cumulative properties and so I drink fennel/peppermint tea every day. Try to keep on acacia everyday. An A person doesn't like changes and if you get D you still have to take SFS so as not to get C the next day and start a cycle! That is what I have. So good luck with the acacia and tea!

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
