I've been doing SO well on this IBS way of eating but today I decided I just had to have some decaf coffee and then for lunch a huge salad with grilled chicken on it. OUCH!!!! It was definitely the salad.

When I went shopping at the grocery store this afternoon (after painfully paying for eating the huge salad) I discovered that this way of eating is EXACTLY the opposite way of what I've been doing for ???? years. I bought almost nothing from the outside edges of the store and that's what I was always taught to do. Lots of fresh veggies and fruits, milk, cheese, yogurt.

I seem to be eating so much sugar on this diet and I don't like it. I've avoided sugar for 20 years and now to embrace it is so foreign to me. I've accepted the white/French bread but the sugar I still have a HALT sign in front of.

Please, any input or advice from any of you that have had success with this way of eating would be appreciated. I did have Laura Sue's pasta w/clam sauce last night and I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. But then today I craved a huge fresh veggie salad. Sigh.......
