I've read a lot of posts about people being terrified of 'attacks' when they eat certain foods and I was just wondering if some of you could elaborate on what that means for you? My only symptoms are bloating and gas, and this seems to happen regardless of what I eat so I have come to eating everything within the IBS guidelines. My bloating responds mostly to the amount I eat, not what I eat.
I'm guessing that those with IBS D, an attack would be the need to rush to the toilet, but are you saying that a handful of beans, for eg, could do this? And for those with IBS C, what do you call an attack? I suppose the only 'attack' for me would be if I eat a wheat bread roll - severe bloating and gas within an instant!
I'm interested to know whether I'm just accepting my bloat & gas and eating away merrily, whereas for others the same bloat & gas is causing them torment and they're terrified of trying a variety of foods for fear of this sort of 'attack'. I've never considered my daily bloat & gas as an attack, but perhaps I should be doing more about it....
Thank you all
