Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | This is driving me nuts!!

Hi guys,
I think I've posted about this before, but I really need help with something... It doesn't happen a lot, but every so often I get these pains and I can't figure out what they are.
It is like the most excruciating ache I've ever felt.. the pain is so bad that when it comes on I start sweating and panicking and my eye tear up and everything.. It starts in the middle/right side of my upper back (between my shoulder blades), wraps right around my rib cage and the pain goes down my right arm. It does NOT feel like muscle pain. Someone suggested a trapped nerve, but as I only get the pain every so often my doctor says that's not a trapped nerve. Then she said it could be a nerve travelling betweet the muscles or something and said massage and alternating hot and cold will help, but I've tried that and nothing.. When the pain comes on, it feels like it is right deep inside.. not like a mucle pain at all.. and I just feel like I am going crazy 'cause I can't figure out what it is and it comes on without warning or anything..
I am going to the doctor today but I am hesitant to mention it again because I feel like I am just going in circles and being a big ol' hypochondriac (sp).
Grrr. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!!
