Hi there,
Thanks for asking! I am not doing great, but it seems to be a bit better. The mucous and stuff carried on for a couple of days, and then I went to the doctor on Friday. My mom came with me to help get the point across that I am not able to function and I really need some help. The doctor decided I need to get a colonoscopy done (as all my GI tests were a looooong time ago (1992) and I need them updated) and she thinks I may have Colitis.  She put me on a medication for Colitis, that I am taking 3 times a day.. I go to see her next week to see how I've been doing, then I guess we'll talk again about seeing a GI specialist and doing all the tests. She put me on a new anti-depressant, and doubled another medication I am already on. She has switched my birth control pill to one I was on a few years ago, and told me to change the fiber I am taking.
Yesterday, I really felt the side effects of the new meds.. _really_ nauseous (which she warned me would happen for the first few days), drowsy, woozy/dizzy and what they called 'mild abdominal cramping', which I would actually call 'severe abdominal cramping'  . This morning I woke up and felt pretty woozy, but not too bad. I wasn't able to really eat anything yesterday, and made it through the day with no BM, which is weird for me. I am hoping today will be okay, and by Tuesday (when I go back to University), the side effects will have worn off and it'll be helping my tummy enough to get me through the days!
I'll letcha know how it goes at my next doc appointment.
