I hear you! When my IBS first started, I lost 20 pounds VERY quickly. I dropped to below 100 pounds and I felt nauseous all the time (I'm very petite 5 foot 1). The only time I didn't feel sick was when I was hungry. What I did was focus on feeling better - not the weight. Heather just reminded me yesterday that ginger tea is amazing for nausea, but I find peppermint tea just as helpful. I was always afraid, "What is this going to do to me?" everytime I tried to eat something. Talk about an appetite supressor. I started slowly and cautiously adding back insoluble fiber into my diet (by that time I was down to potatoes and bread and chicken). It took some trial and error, but eventually, as my symptoms eased I was able to gain back some of the weight I lost. Maybe you will gain the weight back, maybe not. I wouldn't try to add fat or other "weight gainers" to your diet. They'll likely cause an attack, and it will ruin your appetite again and make you feel worse. Focus on your health, and maybe the weight will take care of itself. It did for me. Take care of yourself and go treat yourself to some tea.
