Hi - I am new and scared. I am 33 ( female ) and had some vague gall bladder symptoms but an ultrasound showed several large stones and it was recommended that I have everything removed. I asked the surgeon what kind of recovery / side effects there might be and he laughed and said - you're young, thin and healthy - there won't be any. Here I am 6 months later completely depressed. I was diagnosed three weeks post surgery with IBS. My doctor said take fiber and no it has nothing to do with the surgery. I am better than I was even just 2 months ago. I can go to work and to the store but I don't dare do anything else. I've lost 10 lbs ( which is ok ) but I can only eat white bread, turkey and water and even then it's iffy. I just started taking AMP aloe capsules and I'm wondering if anyone has had success with it. I am going to a GI next week and also to a Behavioral Therapist. I'll try anything if it means getting my life back. I have been drinking fennel / ginger/ peppermint tea which I'm told helps you produce more bile. But w/o a gall bladder I think the bile I produce anyway is what causes the diarrhea. My doctor said the yellow stuff is mucus not bile. But I'm not convinced he knows anything anymore.
