I believe the only categorically safe fruit juice for drinking is cranberry juice. Everything else seems to be pretty iffy, but some people can still drink them... it's all trial and error. If there's a specific juice you have in mind, try a bit of it on a day where it's not so important that you be somewhere, just in case it bothers you!
Jellies are fine, just check the ingredients and make sure they don't contain high fructose corn syrup. Most of the national and store brands do. I use All Fruit spreads instead, and I try to go for ones without seeds.
And yes, different reactions to some of the specific soluble-fiber foods isn't too unusual. Bananas don't agree with me, either - they don't give me IBS problems, but they do give me wicked indigestion. Everyone's different, so it makes sense that different foods will settle differently, too.
