Hello again! I take only one of the jarro because 2 seems to make me a little C. I find that it bulks up the stool and since how I am already C prone, one does me good. So yes, I think you are right about 2 helping D prone people more than C prone.
I am not sure how much magnesium is in each tablet but the bottle says take 2 per day. I can check at home (I am at work right now). The brand is Citracal Plus with magnesium by the way. I looked this morning. And the Omega 3 brand is Natrol (I think).
The 4 colace was recommended by my GI dr. I am pleased with her because she has never steered me wrong so I feel at ease with what she tells me. Like I said, she thinks I will need it the rest of my life and if that means I can live a happy life, so be it!! Otherwise, I would not take 4 colace a day or any probably for that matter. I take the regular colace. The other has a laxative so that is no good. If I get really C at times, I break down and try a little Milk of Magnesium because my GI says it is the gentlest on my system. She had me on that for 3 months when I first went to her. I was in that bad of shape.
I don't buy the Omega 3 that is refridgerated. I just buy it right off the shelf and then I put it in the refridgerator along with my Colace and Jarro. And I just buy it at Wal-Mart. You can find it at Walgreens but they charge almost double for the same brand. So there is a heads up!
I try to eat a lot of insoluables. They don't bother me, they just help things move along and I can tell!! I eat different stuff a lot because I get burned out easily on food. But things I keep around my house at all times are things like whole grain wheat bread (Sara Lee makes a good one that has honey in it..YUM). I get the multi grain crackers. And I try to keep cereal around that has a lot of insoulables like mini wheats or chex wheat, etc. I eat a lot of brocoli (sp?), carrots, banannas, applesauce..
I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have further questions. I am happy to help!
