Well my doc tried me on an antispasmodic (Dicetel) first and when that didn't work I went back to her office desperate as ever...she prescribed a different antispasmodic (Modulon) and told me not to worry cuz if this one didn't work she's still got lots more meds up her sleeve. It ended up working though so I haven't had to try anything new as of yet.
She's also recommended a SFS as well as taking vitamin supplements (calcium and megnesium) and both have helped a lot.
When I told her about Heather's diet she said it made sense and that if it's working then to keep on it.
The specialist I went to (apparently one of the best in canada) told me I should be drinking milk though So who really knows right??? LOL
It's possible my doc was just trying to sound encouraging because I was so desperate sitting in her office...but she's always made me feel that she can help me and has never told me "there's not much you can do for IBS" ....I'd switch doctors...
