Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Don't have IBS after all...

Hi Guys, I am new to this web-site and I just signed up last week. I was diagnosed with IBS in the emergency room a week or so ago. I have lost about 18 pounds so far and I was very bloated and had a lot of pain under my right rib.Over the past couple of days my pain and nausea got so bad I had to end up having a HIDA scan done. This is where they inject a radioactive substance in your vien and watch it to through your organs. Sounds bad, but it was not at all. Anyway, I do not have IBS, my gallbladder is only functioning at about 5% and I have to have it removed. Just wanted to give everyone an FYI if your symptoms are constant and you have severe pain and nausea non-stop you may want to get checked for a gallbladder problem. I had an ultra-sound when I went to the emergency room; however, it did not show that I had gallstones, but the HIDA scan showed that the gallbladder was not functioning properly.
