It depends how many calories you consume since Heather recommends 20-25% fat per meal and all day. So if you have an idea of how many calories you eat then you can calculate what 25% of that is in fat grams. When I first started the diet I kept a strict journal and added the fat grams up every day. I tried to keep it at 30 grams and figured that was real safe for my amount of calories. So for a meal 6-8 is really good. For a snack it might be a little high. You could have 10 grams with each meal and probably be ok if the calories were high enough (probably not so with breakfast but you could add a snack mid-morning and that would come to 10) but that is just a rough idea. If you can find recipes that actually have the percentage of fat (like Heather's do) then you will know exactly. Otherwise it takes a little while to get the feel of what is fat acceptable. Good luck.

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
