I would suggest on insolubles like oatmeal, brown rice, pureed fruit and root vegies which have a high proportion of soluble too and are very well tolerated by most people.

I agree with this. Making breads from Heather's book and other things with cooked veggies is pretty safe. Oatmeal is a good poop producer too. Mashing veggies and fruit is also good but I would be careful about getting into everything Heather says she can eat now (or anyone) when they are stable (like having salad after a meal) and stick with more tolerable foods. But don't be scared about what others say affects them b/c sometimes that can be troublesome too. Personally just cutting out fat and dairy helped me so much I was able to do insolubles more than some people.

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
