Thanks for the welcome! I just responded to your post about nausea. I was wary about the Primal Defense at first, just because it's taken a long time to work. But it was recommended to me by a nutritionist who is going through the same thing. I only with that insurance would pick up the tab for the cost. At $45/bottle, it's an expensive way to feel relief.
On another note, I went to see my GI doc for the first time last week. He went through the form that I filled out, and asked me about the scripts that I was taking, along with all of the OTC stuff (Gas-X, acidolphilus, MoM). He quickly diagnosed me, set me up for that barium x-ray, and sent me on my way. He mentioned nothing about the Primal Defense, which I feel has helped me more than any prescription. As I was setting up my appointment for the x-ray, I flagged him down and asked him about the Primal Defense.
He quickly dismissed the effectiveness by saying (with a little sneer) "I know nothing about this, so I can't tell you either way to keep taking it or not. If you don't feel that it's harming you, then keep taking it. Fax me some info and I can let you know." Why should I be the one educating him? He's a GI specialist for crap's sake! Sheesh!!
Moron. I wish that the medical community wouldn't be so quick to dismiss herbal remedies that may be out there. Obviously conventional drugs are not working so far, and from what I've read, this syndrome is not getting the medical attention or funding to further the knowledge. Very disappointing.
