I've never heard of it either, and I second what Carrieokie says. I can also tell you that for a lot of people with IBS, fruit juices are a huge no-way-Jose. My best recommendation is to read through the IBS diet guidelines - there's a lot there, but it's definitely worth reading all the way through. It'll explain soluble fiber, foods to eat, foods to avoid, and so much more. You can also hop over to the supplements section to learn how to safely incorporate a fiber supplement into her diet. Don't be surprised if some of this contradicts what her doctor said - the vast majority of doctors know little, if anything, about proper diet for IBS sufferers.
