I do completely fine with candy, but some don't - you'll just have to try it out. No chocolate candy - but I can eat anything like jelly beans, laffy taffy, nerds, swedish fish, circus peanuts, sweet tarts, etc. Anything like that I can eat lots of and be fine. You'll have to see if HFCS is a problem with her. I'm so sorry Poor girl.
Oh - I do fine with PB&J too - but no whole wheat bread. I just use white bread, and reduced fat PB. I eat that about everyday. And make sure the J isn't 'sugar free'. Potatoes are great!
