Sorry to hear you're feeling so crappy. I am also C and understand where you're coming from. I'm glad you found us, though; you'll get great advise and empathy here. The diet will help you out, even though giving up your favorite foods/beverages can be rough. I'm still having trouble with my biggest weakness, peanut butter, which is also a trigger for me. But, even so, we all feel better when we stick to will power. Be careful with the soluble fiber diet, though. We C'ers have to modify this diet with as many insolubles as we can tolerate so we don't get more constipated. For example: eat brown rice instead of white, oatmeal/grain breads, and eat potatoes with skin on. Work in veggies quickly, but start with them being cooked (low sodium veggie soup is wonderful, but be careful with beans especially lentils!). Remember not to eat only solubles for more than a day, work insolubles in quickly, drink plenty of water and herbal teas, take soluble fiber supplements starting with lowest dose and GRADUALLY increase, and get daily exercise. Ask us anything and vent. Hope you feel better soon and good luck! Steph
