Heather, I just want to make sure my info is correct. I have read that it is unusual for IBS to begin after age 40. What do you think about this? My symptoms began suddenly 11 months ago at age 40 and never went away. I had no previous gut problems. We are obviously proof that, while it may be unusual, it does happen. I think the point is, that if you are over 40, don't assume stomach problems are IBS. Make sure your rule out all other possibilities with appropriate tests.
