Well, let me vent a bit because I'm really angry and frustrated. I had diagnosed myself with IBS and was in denial until I finally went to the gastroenterologist. He told me that I had IBS after a few exams but he wants to do some other stuff just in case. I asked him about some things that I ate that I think may have made me ill. Did it sound like IBS or something else. Do I just have a sensitive stomach. These are the things that destroyed me: OJ in the morning Coffee Cooked Tomatoes with skin 3 beers on an empty stomach He says those things don't bother me and diarrhea is normal if it is only once every 2 weeks. I looked a bit confused but rolled with it. Fine! He tells me to go home and eat a high fiber diet. He then hands me a xerox copy of a page titled "High Fiber Diet." It wasn't even centered so the page was all goofy looking. I said, "Great! This is going to help me a whole bunch because I've heard that fiber will help me out!" So I head straight to the market (Of course that is a market that I know where the restroom is). I buy all the great high fiber things he told me to eat, APPLES, BROCCOLI, CAULI, LETTUCE AND OTHER GREENS, FRUIT, AND THE LIKES. Holy macaroni did I regret that. It didn't help me out a bit. Then I found this site and read about what types of things aggravate the ol tum tum. Uh...acids, coffee, alcohol ESPECIALLY ON AN EMPTY STOMACH. How did I get more info from reading for 15 minutes then I did from my gastroenterologist? Regardless, that is what happened. I am now on day 1 of this diet. WISH ME LUCK! Share you successes and failures with me. What kind of fast foods can I eat? HELP!!!!
