Welcome welcome welcome..this site is a lifesaver and I am so happy for you that you found it!!
I don't drink before eating (like 15 mins), during, and only tiny sips for an hour after if at all...it really really helps.
You can start expanding your diet as soon as you feel that your bowels are more stable...shouldn't take more then a few days....expand slowly and gently and keep a food and symptom diary...everything should be documented.
As far as the exertion goes...I never push my poos out, even if it means leaving them right at the 'exit' if they don't want to come any further, having another cup of peppermint tea and trying again...they always end up coming out on their own. exertion can induce hemarroids which is something I never want to experience!!! the dizzy feeling is common....I believe IBS is neurological, so we are going to get all these weird fuzzy feelings when our bowel does something big, like a poo. these feelings should minimise as you stabilise.
Good luck and keep asking questions!!!
