Hard to say, Rachel. On the one hand, IBS and fibro often go together. On the other hand, he may just want your business. Body work is sometimes helpful for fibro, but unless the underlying sleep disorder is dealt with, there won't be lasting improvement.
Do a google on good sleep hygiene and put all of those suggestions into action before spending your money on him. And if you're willing to take an over the counter med, try some generic Benadryl tablets to help you sleep.
Also, when you say treat it with diet, do you just mean the IBS diet? Because there's really no fibro diet that's clinically proven.
Wasn't it in the flu vaccine thread that you said injections are really painful and I said you might have some pain amplification going on? That was you, right? (ribbit, fibro frog alert!) It could be fibro which is essentially a pain amplification disorder.
