I started on about 1/4 scoop once a day; after observing no ill-effects after 3-4 days, increased to 1/4 scoop twice a day, after about another week increased again to about 1/2 scoop twice a day. I haven't observed any problems with the soy (already being pretty used to it; I do quite a bit of soy milk and tofu), but as I said in the previous post, I suspect I may have ramped up a bit too quickly, and that may also have been exacerbated by eating popcorn. Anyway, am recovering now from a bad bit of C brought on (I think) by those factors. I really don't see the advantage of this particular fiber product over any others; I think if this one works for you, use this one, and if another had been working for you, stick with that. Fibrestore seems to have a whole variety of fiber sources in it, which may make it work better for some, and may also mean more possibilities for adverse reactions in others. I guess what I mean is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. If it was me, I'd go back to what had been working. I don't think it matters as much what source you get it from, as long as you're getting the fiber your body needs. Me, I'm back to square one with Fibrestore, 1/4 scoop once daily, and plan to ramp up much sllllloooooowwwwweeeeerrrrrr this time, and am also working on taking in more H2O, a biggie for those of us who struggle with big C. Boy! Frustrating sometimes ain't it? But I gotta throw in (yet again) my wholehearted recommendation of the Classic/ Now product (I think they're both the same except one is flavored). It sure makes a big positive difference for me.
