We-e-e-ell, it depends on the fiber supplement you are taking. You need to see how much soluble fiber there is per tablespoon and multiply by 2. For example, acacia has 4.5 g per tablespoon, but Citrucel has 2 g per heaping tablespoon. There's a sticky note at the top of the forum about soluble fiber dosages, but generally you want to get 10-15 g/day from your SFS.
Soluble fiber won't give you C, but you also need to get plenty of liquid and exercise and an appropriate amount of insolubles to help keep C at bay. What's appropriate? It changes person to person and day to day. If you think you're doing everything right - daily exercise, at least half a gallon of liquid a day, 10-15 grams of soluble fiber from SFS - but you feel constipated, then add some insolubles to your diet.
AC TMI: generally I try to get some pretty challenging insolubles with every meal - an unpeeled apple, cooked kale, etc. But I'm verging a bit towards D today due to some excessively fatty meals over the past 2 days, so my only fruit today will be a banana and no evil veggies! Tomorrow, I'll start adding the insolubles back in so long as my tummy is willing.
