Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

Hi All-

I am new to this board and wanted to say hello. Let me explain my situation a bit, sorry if it gets too long. 3 years ago I suffered terrible pains in my back and under my rib cage. I was diagnosed as having Acid Reflux. 2 years later the pains were unbearable and I switched doctors. the new doctor found I had gall stones so I had my gall bladder removed. After the surgery I lived in misery for alomst a year. Just about every meal I was suffering with diarreah. I couldn't work, I had no social life, I was miserable. I lost almost 50lbs. dropping from 225 to 179. A co-worker of mine suggested that I get a book that helps people with IBS. I bought the book and noticed that it said that if I had my gallbladder removed than I might need to take medicine called Questran. I went back to my doctor and he prescribed it for me. Let me tell you that this medicine has changed my life. I want to thank Heather for truly saving my life. Does anyone else here share the same story?
