Glad to hear you got a confirmed diagnosis. As far as the antibiotic and steriods setting off the IBS, it's certainly possible. Any kind of "insult to the gut" such as killing off all the bacteria with an antibiotic or getting a stomach bug or abdominal surgery, etc, can set it off in those of us who are prone to it. Unfortunately, sometimes it's absolutely medically necessary to take things like antibiotics and steriods to deal with a serious infection. Kind of darned if you do, darned if you don't!
