I'd call your doc and let him know you're having trouble sleeping and see what he wants to do. My GI started me on it (amitriptyline) a couple of weeks ago and told me that in some cases it can cause sleeplessness (said he tried it one time for back pain and it kept him awake, so he had to quit) so, what you're experiencing sounds like a possible side affect.
