seriously... mom asked if I remembered a specific recipe from my childhood because it would be safe on my current diet and then reminded me of where it came from. David Enoch's kids had all kinds of allergies and his wife was a good cook, but couldn't find recipes she could make work for certain things, so he came up with a few for her based on chemical reactions.. one of which is the most amazing vinegar and baking soda based vegan chocolate cake.. anyway- she said she'd email it to me. sounds like the wacky cake already in the files, but we'll see when it gets here... knowign her it will be a week or 2 before I get it.. I just thought the story of how it came to be- the professional chemist making recipes for his wife to use was cute. This has been my goal lately.. since I have a lot of food issues, and DH has other ones, and I do have a materials engineering background..
