Hey, Yesterday my doctor put me on amitritylin, Ive never used an anti depressant for my ibs before even though Ive had it for 4 years, I was 15 when I got it and am now 19! The dosage says one tablet 2 times a day, I took one after tea yesterday and one to go to bed, ive now just had one this morning! I know amitritylin can be used as a sleeping pill Ive read other posts about it before, but just wondering did everyone else feel as knocked out by it as I DO?? I slept till 11 this morning! And I feel really drowsy today...luckily I dont go back to uni for another 2 weeks so im hoping things will get better...just wanted to know a few things...how long did you think it took before you noticed any difference in your symptoms? And it says on the packet to avoid alcohol..im okay usually with a little bit of alcohol on a full stomach it doesnt bother my ibs too much...so is there anyone else who occasionally drinks and is taking amitriptylin and does that affect it?? Any advice would be appreciated...also my attacks are always in the morning so do you think I should take both tablets before I go to bed to stop trouble in the morning..what do u do?? xx
