When it's bad I can't even tolerate a sip of alcohol, but other times I drink vodka & ginger ale. Could have been the pinapple juice that caused your problems. I usually avoid all fruit juices when I am out. They have pretty unpredictable effects on me. Midori might not have been the best choice either, I avoid all the flavoured liqueurs and alcopops because they have so many artifical additives in them. I can sometimes manage a small beer but that usually makes me bloated. I can also drink Japanese shochu (not sake - that makes me really sick) but I guess you won't find that unless you go to a Japanese restaurant. Look out for it if you do go though...
