Wow. What a horrible ordeal for you. This is what makes my story so odd. My ordeal started on this past Mon, Jul 19. I woke up with a mild migraine & slightly nauseated (excuse spelling & grammar, it is 3am & I don't have my glasses on). About 3 that afternoon, after eating a lunch of Chicken Pasta Salad (homemade yummy) which I had for dinner the night before, I had a snack of baked cheese nips & some low fat meringues. I started to have what I thought was a IBS attack. I took Equalactin & finished my cheese nips, because I wanted them:). At this point the vomiting started. On occasions, I have vomited with IBS, it usually happens just once, with this episode I vomited several times. I vomited so much, I felt like I was vomiting food that I was thinking about having. I could not stop, but finally did. I ate a few bites of a French Roll & Peppermint Tea about 530 pm & at about 8pm lost that & then the d began. I was pretty sure this was not IBS. At about midnight was when the bleeding began. I woke my husband up to show him. At this point there was stool with the blood; he said this is normal. At around 2am everything turned to blood, it was bright then turned to dark ruby red. Silly me didn't want to wake my hubby since he had said the first bowl was normal. At 7am I woke him up because I was just plain terrified, because it just wasn't stopping. I was sipping water because my mouth was dry & it was going staight through me. I had to call my doctor's office & have them contact the on-call doctor. The doctor called & I told him what was going on. I told him up front I had IBS & had just had a colonoscopy in Jan & had small internal hemmeroids & he told me to go to the emergerncy room & they would probably admit me. The only reason for the emergency room was because they could do the bloodwork there & get it right back. What is weird about this is of course it did not feel good to vomit or to have d, but I really did not feel bad. I did not feel great, but I wasn't running a fever. The only time I felt any pain was when I ate & then it was the mild menstrual cramps type. My behind did not start hurting until late Wed. I had even commented to my husband how odd that my anal passages weren't sore after all that d. By the way, I did not have any tests done while in the hospital. I am sure that they are checking my stools for different things, but no tests.
