Hi there from Southern Cali! I've been a member for a few weeks enjoying all your posts. I decided to write today because I feel LauraSue's migraine pain, and I think I'm about to get one (PMS time). on top of IBS, migraines are the most horrible thing to live with, something else you can't predict. Anyway, I am a fellow IBS sufferer, about 8 years now. just started out of the blue, no clue why! attacks whenver the mood strikes. just went through a 2 month bout of daily morning attacks. its just so weird, as soon as I open my eyes in the morning (and sometimes while I'm still asleep) it hits. its so odd. I have to get up earlier than necessary so it can attack, i can take my magic pill (lomotil) and try to feel better so I can stress out and run for a train to work. whats stressing, is trying to make it to train without any need for a restroom since the train has a restroom, I feel "safe" there. then I get to Union Station near my job, and have to manage to get from there to my office without worrying about an attack for about the 10 minute commute without a toilet! that is so so stressful.
Haven't even been able to attend my church much cause there's no toilets on the freeway from my house to church and I'm terrified of an accident. especially since I read about so many people having them on that ibstales website. I told my friend, I have it good compared to some people. and everyone is on point about people not understanding the severity of what we feel. I actually emailed to my girlfriend at work and my daughter the ibstales web page of horror stories so they could see what I'm going through and understand how I feel. My daughter still doesn't get it, and has no patience. when I get upset and my stomach starts churning, she tells me to calm down. like that's gonna do it, sometimes its too late.
anyway, just sharing a little. i do appreciate all your info. i have learned so much, don't know why i never joined groups before. i joined some yahoo ones also and get emails with info too. my system is starting to calm down after 2 months of constant morning attacks, calmed down now mainly cause i've been trying to follow Heathers break the cycle menu. cut out soda, coffee, grease, fats, fried, dairy, red meats, only eat white, boring stuff and have just started adding little things here and there to see what happens. and yes it really does make a difference. our menus are really what is killing us. I couldn't handle the caltrate 600plus pills though, even half a pill wanted to make me die of bloated pain. any ideas! I read on a few diff. IBS sites that the calcium help bind (oh bye the way i have IBS-D) so I went out and bought Caltrate but can't take it. anyway, just a few words, hope to hear from you.   have a great evening, from Judy in too Sunny Southern Cali!
