Number 1 - Do not eat Rasberry Fig Newtons on an empty stomach. Yesterday my husband & I were planning to go out to dinner, about 3pm I wanted a little snack to tide me over. I have had the Newtons for dessert, but never on a empty stomach. I ate about 3 & on my fourth my tummy started to rumble & to cramp. I quickly took Equalactin & drank some Peppermint tea, but whoa did that catch me by surprise. I have been doing so well about eating my soluble fiber first, that yesterday I just wasn't thinking.
2nd lesson - Is eating a fat laden meal really worth it?
My husband & I went to Macaroni Grill for dinner. I usually get a lighter fare dish with angel hair, fresh tomatoes, basil and grilled chicken. Last night I decided to get the Chicken Marsala which I had never had at MG, but in most places I am usually ok with. When the Marsala was brought out, I knew it was fat laden & I decided to go ahead and eat it anyway and yes it was yummy. I was in fat heaven. I had taken my Equalactin, plus my Acacia and my Peppermint caps before I left home. I avoided an IBS attack, but about 3am I woke up and felt like I had a big ball of fat sitting in my tummy. This morning, my tummy still feels funky. So I really have to ask myself was it worth it? I guess on special occasion it would be ok, but I don't think I would want to do this just for the sake of being able to eat what I want.
