I haven't heard of a link between IBS and MS but there is a 'link' between IBS and mitral valve prolapse/mitral valve prolapse syndrome. Many people with MVPS have some sort of digestive disorder and from what I've been reading on MVPS, scoliosis, IBS, tremors, difficulty swallowing, chest pain, palpitations, anxiety, and confusion are all symptoms of this disorder. Diagnosing MVP is fairly easy - you have a murmur or click, there is something wrong with your mitral valve and can de diagnosed with an echocardiogram. But MVPS is not as easy as you can have MVPS without the actual valve problems. The symptoms are many and quite varied among people with MVPS. Here is a website which I've found helpful:

It's something to look into. My dr's thought I had MS for a while but ruled it out after an MRI of my brain. I would push my drs for an MRI, its one of the best indicators for MS. If it looks likely, the next step is a spinal tap to confirm. My sister has MS so I know a little about it. Your symptoms do sound like MS but they could also be something else as well. I wouldn't worry about it until more testing is done, and you do definitely need more testing.
I haven't been diagnosed with MVPS yet but I do have an appt with the cardiologist this week, hopefully I'll get some kind of answers. Good luck to you, your best weapon is to be as knowlegeable aa you possibly can - do the research and present to your dr's for consideration. Ask alot of questions and don't let them blow you off.
