Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

Hello All! Well, I just found this website today and I'm very excited. I am so happy to know that I am not alone. After dealing with my doctors and having them act as if my problem is "nothing major", I need to have some allies. I started having problems within the last 3 months. I ignored them though-as much as possible-because they weren't consistant. Then one night-I suffered terribly (with D and vomiting all night-to the point where I thought I would have to go to ER). The next day I went to the doctor. I already have fertility problems (I may have endometriosis-although that is another problem altogether)and I've been to my OB/Gyn and have to undergo quite a bit of testing for that and now I start having problems with this? What's wrong with me?

I have an appt.set up with my GI specialist to see if IBS may be what's causing the C and D. I feel like all I am doing is tests left and right. It's so frustrating. I'm sorry, I feel like I'm rambling, but there is just so much going on and I can't get any answers right away. I'm just left here to wait...and wait...and wait. I had some blood tests done and they showed that I was anemic. Which, as my primary doctor states, may be the reason for my fatigue. They just told me to take vitamins and eat iron-enriched foods. Well, I feel worse when I do that. I just want to feel better. I want to have my life back and not be so tired, gassy, bloated, and irritable! Uggghhh!

Ok, I think I got it all out. I know that the more I learn about this, the better I will feel. I'm hoping the GI spec. will be able to shed more light on this than my primary could (they gave me a hand-out, which didn't help at all). I've learned more on this website, than anywhere. Still, I don't know if I have IBS-but it's possible. We shall see.
