Some Interesting facts

I was reading Natural Health magazine and came across some interesting facts that got my brain whirring.

1) It said that about 70% of your immune system is in your gut.
2) Then there was an advertisment for an immune boosting product that said it would boost your IgG's to promote a healthy immune system.

Well that got me to thinking. I am a IBS D and have always been under the belief that my body must be trying to get rid of something with all of that D. Also, my levels of IgG are highly elevated which I have heard others on this board say as well. I found that out with the Celiac blood test. So I'm thinking maybe those of us with IBS-D have overactivated immune systems and the D is the result of our bodies trying to purge the suspected invader. Kind of like in people with allergies. Their bodies have an over reaction to what their body suspects are invaders like pollen and mold and they have high levels of IgE.

???I don't know it just sort of got me thinking. Does it intrigue anyone else? So, do I get my PhD now?
