Hi there! As far as I know, green tea (decaf) is great for health in general, but I haven't seen anything that says it is soothing for the gastrointestinal tract specifically. Things like peppermint, fennel and chamomile are mentioned frequently because they can be soothing for upset tummies. (But, like all foods for IBS-ers, tolerance is specific to the individual, there are a few people on the board who can't do peppermint at all).

Back to green tea - good to drink, but not a remedy for IBS attack symptoms. Heather had a good post about it here and you can also use the search function to find other posts.
