I had an ulcer(h-pylori) before I was diagnosed with IBS-C. Keep taking the antibiotics, because that's the only way to kill the H-pylori. You should also try taking acidophilus to help you stomach flora (good bacteria) get back to normal after your treatment. But I think you are right, there's a link. Right after I was treated for the h-pylori, that's when I started having problems with IBS-C. I was diagnosed a couple of months later.
I read somewhere that IBS is usually a result of trauma to your stomach/intestines. Having ulcers (H-pylori is definitely traumatic. The only relief I have had is taking an antidepressant for the pain and spasms and trying to eat better following the diet plus taking Citrucel. I hope this helps. You should definitely talk to your doctor to see if you can take something for the pain and disconfort. -Chela
