It sounds like you are a very empathetic person and you internalize the pain that is around you. I am like that too. If you let it, tragedy can ruin your life/health. All I can say is that you need to be healthy for your dog, friend and father, so be sure to take care of yourself. If you are a person of prayer, that is always helpful: release the pain to God and direct healing love to those that are ill. Also, I believe in the power of gratitute and the importance of laughter.
