Thanks for the quick response. Although I've had IBS for 30 years, I've only seen a doc two times for it. Once as a teen when I was "diagnosed" (no tests) and about ten years ago when I was referred to a gastroenterologist and he ran all the tests and reconfirmed that I had IBS. At that time, I think he recommended a daily antibiotic (???) which I declined.
So BH (before Heather ) I just took a lactase before meals with dairy and imodium when I had attacks.
My IBS has gotten worse recently so I just started the process of being referred to the gastro doc again. Just wanted to know what meds were available so I can ask him about them.
Your posts have been MOST helpful. Truly. I just started the Jarro two days ago and will try the Equalactin next. There is so much info out there that it gets confusing at times. That's why I really appreciate when you name specifics and exactly what you do when you get an attack. Thanks! Janet
